Subject: [Staff] New Mopier Service

 

Hi everyone,

 

TSO is now offering a new multi-function copier (mopier) service that will consolidate the College’s printing and copying services and replace the existing  General Use Printing Service.  This new service will provide secure printing, copying, faxing, and scanning capabilities via buzz card authentication, in addition to vendor maintenance and repairs. Because the mopiers are designed for high-speed and high-volume, they’re able to provide for throughput, duty cycles, and cost per sheet that cannot be matched by desktop printers. This will earn the college an annual savings of $30K. 

Over the last month, mopiers have been placed throughout the CCB, KACB, and TSRB. Check here for exact locations. Placement of the mopiers provides convenient access for faculty, staff, graduate students, and student employees. We encourage their usage.  Vendor training sessions on the mopiers will be announced in a forthcoming system notice. 

With the support of College leadership and TSO Faculty Advisory Committee, on July 1, 2015, the following policy changes will occur:
            • TSO will support the new mopiers by placing orders for toner, installing toner, troubleshooting technical problems, and placing support calls for repairs.
            • The Schools or departments will continue to provide paper for the mopiers in their area.

            • The College will no longer provide toner, maintenance, or repairs for office and workgroup printers.
            • The Schools will be required to provide toner, maintenance, and repairs for office and workgroup printers.
            • TSO will provide a best effort in troubleshooting technical problems for office and workgroup printers but will no longer place orders for toner, install toner,  or place support calls for printer repairs.
